ACTING SHMACTING

A New Acting Class at the Helena Avenue Theatre (HAT)

 

Want to get out of the heat this summer? Take a stimulating and inspiring class in a cool, comfortable place at the Helena Avenue Theatre. You’ll get hands-on training in live performance and have a good time!  Expand performance and life skills in this affordable acting course as taught by renowned Montana theatre artist, Bruce Hall.  For ages 16 and up.  No experience necessary. Course Fee: $175.

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

What is acting? How do you put on a character? How do you keep it real? Acting is fun, and it’s also serious business. Through monologs, scene work, and emotion-driven improv, this class explores how to personalize and commit to character as a way of becoming a more honest actor.

7 sessions: May 21 – July 2, 2024: 6:00 – 8:00 pm (Tuesdays) at the Helena Avenue Theatre, 1319 Helena Avenue, Helena.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Bruce Hall is a theatre director and educator with an MFA in Acting from Yale University, a BA in Drama from University of Montana, and an MA in Psychology from Antioch. He has taught Drama and Music in Seattle schools for twenty years and has produced works as a director, writer, and composer for regional theaters and Broadway.
